That IS the question!
My goal was to start potty training Briggs after I had the baby, so I have started. I don't know what wears me out more, sleepless nights or potty training!!! Briggs is doing really good sitting on the potty, but that is just it, SITTING! Right after we sit on the potty he pees! He gets a sticker every time he sits and he really likes getting those. I have only been at this for 3 days now, and I know that it takes time. I would gladly accept any advice from moms who have potty trained their little guys!! What worked? How long did it take? Any suggestions? Please let me know!

My honest suggestion....
Just wait. I read several different articles and books that said it takes older siblings 6 months to adjust to a new baby. Noah was close in age to Briggs when Kayt was born and he was 'ready' to be potty trained. But I also knew that his little mind, body and emotions were going through an adjustment. We waited (against the suggestion of people) until the summer time right after Noah turned two. When I decided to go for it, it only took one day. He loved being able to pee in the yard and after three days he was pooping in the potty too. I can count on one hand how many accidents that he has had in the last year. It never hurts them to be too ready, only not ready enough.
I just encourage you to not feel like you have to add another thing to your plate. You are adjusting to life with two kids, and all the things that come with having a newborn. Don't expect too much from yourself, just work on being a mommy to two boys.
That is just my honest suggestion. Potty training will wait, sleep can't. :)
I know what you mean. I started with Jarrett about a month ago and he was doing so good. I don't know what happened but now he doesn't like going to the potty he just wants to run around without a diaper on. He takes them off about 2 minutes after I put them on. His Dr. said that he is a little young for a boy. I had Peyton potty trained at 16 months. She was so easy. I don't know what I am going to do with J. He has already been way more difficult.
Hey Andi! This took Caleb and I FOREVER! Wait until you get to the poop stage! I had it in my head that he had to get it done when he was 2. However, Caleb did NOT. I did finally quit pushing it. It was frustrating me and HIM. I tried again much later (around 3 years old.) Boys are just slow (and does that ever really change??? :) Anyhoo, we did the pee in the yard thing when HE was ready and that helped too. I'll tell ya about poop training later! Congrats on baby Grady. He's adorable!
