The Great White Hunter

For many of you that don't know my husband he is an avid hunter. I have never known someone to love something so much. It is hunting season this time of year which includes deer, pheasant, and dove (I think). So everday that he goes hunting I can maybe expect one of these animals to be brought to my house dead. FINE. But when your husband brings home a BOBCAT it is a little different!!!! Not only do we have a dead bobcat it is in our FREEZER!!! Yeah!!! Can you believe it???????? I have not to look at it yet. It makes my stomach hurt thinking of it and I have a VERY strong stomach! I am a nurse, but this makes me queazy. He says that he is going to have it stuffed and put on our living room. Fat chance of that ever happening. We already have stuffed animals that now reside in the garage. Anyways he is pretty proud of this cat, and supposedly it is pretty big for a bobcat, I think about 50lbs. I have never seen them except for at the zoo. Here are some pictures of my husband and his prized kill!! ( I am afraid that both of my sons will turn out to be hunters too!!!) Briggs already has a gun and a ton of camo gear!

Very Thankful

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and stuffed our faces until we were about to pop! It has been a wonderful year and there are so many things to be thankful for. I want to share some of the things that I am so thankful for:

My baby boy, he has been healthy and has grown into a traveling toddler

My pregnancy, we were on fertility with Briggs and this was natural

My husband, he works so hard to support our family and I love him dearly

My job, I LOVE my job and everything about it, being around babies all day, the flexibility, the list goes on and on

My father in laws health, He has had three major surgeries this year and he is a healthy man, he is back in great health

My Aunt Jo Anne, she beat cancer for the SECOND time and has had a successful stem cell transplant

My new house, it is bigger and now my boys will have plenty of room to run around

My family, Pretty self explanatory

My in laws, That is underneath family but they are above and beyond the best in laws anyone could have

God, Without him none of this is possible

I probably could go on and on but I will stop for now. We did Thanksgiving at my parent's house in Amarillo and Briggs made a gingerbread house. We have kind of been busy lately with doctor's appointments and stuff like that. I had to get another sono because they couldn't see Grady's spine very well the first time. Everything went well and all looks good. I can't wait to meet him, he just needs to cook a little longer! Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving.

What's in a Name?

After much deliberation we finally have a name for our baby boy. We were not going to tell anyone and just let them find out on the Christmas cards but that is a hard secret to keep, so our second son will be.....drum roll please Grady Alan Satterfield. Yes we know his initials will be GAS, but so are my father in laws he is Gregory Alan. Grady is such an old name and it goes well with Briggs. Speaking of Christmas cards my friend Tammy took our pictures and Oh my gosh!! She did such an awesome job. Check her blog @ tamarastiles.blogspot.com. She really has good ideas and was very quick too. Thanks Tammy!!! Here are some of the photos!

Sharp Dressed Man

We had a really busy week last week and we are really tired this week! Cody had to get his physical for his new job, we took our family Christmas pictures, had a sono appointment, had to work and then we topped it off by going to ZZ Top on Saturday (no pun intended). It was a really good concert even though they are REALLY old! We went with my in-laws, who are so young at heart, and my sister in law and her fiance'. Time to get busy on the nursery now, I just can't seem to get adjusted to this new time, and neither can Briggs! He also had his 15 month well check yesterday and he was perfect! Of course I already new that! Hopefully this week we will get a little more rest. Have a great week and don't forget to VOTE!!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch and corn maze this past weekend. We did not get to go through the maze because it was blown down and the patch was very muddy, we did however manage to get a few pumpkins or "nanas" as Briggs calls them. He really enjoyed it and I think Cody loved it too! I am finally starting to feel better! I think Cody and Briggs are really glad too! The baby moves a lot and I love this part of the pregnancy! We have been looking at work to see what the sex of the baby is but it has its legs closed! I go on October 29th to get my actual sonogram, hopefully we will get to find out then. Here are some pictures of the pumpkin patch and of baby Satterfield #2!

Halloween Happening

I think I have mentioned before that I love this time of year. I love the weather, how the trees look and I love to dress up for halloween and decorate my house in the fall colors. Monday night I had a sorority meeting at my house and we all dressed up and had some Halloween goodies to eat. Here are also some pictures of the monsterous pumpkin my dad grew in his garden. It weighed 61lbs.! Hope you all enjoy the fresh crisp air!

My little Backyardigan

When God made boys he made them to be BOYS! My son LOVES it outside, he loves to get dirty, he loves to be in the water, he loves to eat, loves to be wrestled with and so forth. He also loves to play with my pots and pans. He will probably be a chef! He gets out my skillets with a spatula while I am cooking, stirs his pretend food in the skillet and says hot. He is such a funny guy. He definitely does not like to come in from outside. Although I love the fall weather I don't think Briggs is going to take it very well. I guess we will just have to bundle up! By the way those of you pregnant women out there I am at 13 weeks and still sick! Yup! Is there an end in sight except for my due date!

Cha-Cha-Changes

WOW! So it has only been 3 months since my last blog! Holy COW!! We have had a lot going on. We moved, my son turned one, my father-in-law had a very unexpected medical emergency and before we moved we redid the entire house. Needless to say it has been wild and crazy around here. Briggs has grown so fast and now I can't believe he is one! He is such a handsome and sweet little guy. He is walking, I mean running everywhere! We are adjusting to our new house which is really lovely, but it just doesn't feel like home yet, but that will just take time. Oh, and I forgot to mention we are adding another addition to the family! Yup, Baby Satterfield #2 will be making his/her debut sometime at the end of March '09, my actual due date is the 23rd which makes Cody really happy because that is his birthday. Sorry again for the blogging hiatus, I will try to stay updated now since we will not be SO busy. Here are some pictures from Briggs' birthday.

...and were OFF

Or I guess you could say Briggs is. He is crawling and pulling up on everything, even the wall. He is growing up way too fast. He is almost 10 months now and I can't believe it. We bought him a swimming pool but he has only got to play in it once due to the weather, but he seemed to enjoy it. Our house is going really well and it is going to be beautiful when we get done. Sorry it has been a while since the last blog. I have been a bit busy. Here are some pictures of my sweet angel and a couple from Mother's Day at my parents house. Enjoy!

Loves to crawl on the tile

My son

I know it is Mother's Day but we never would have this holiday if it weren't for our children, right?? So I am going to pay a tribute to my little guy, Briggs Cowan Satterfield. Let me start by saying I am the proudest and luckiest person on the face of the earth to have him as my son. He is the sweetest most caring person and he can't even talk yet! It is true that you don't know what love is until you have children. My heart hurts because I love him so much. His eyes sparkle and his big grin melts your heart. I could stare at him 24 hours a day and be mezmorized every second of it. I can't thank God enough for giving him to us. He truly is an angel and we love him so so much. Thank you Briggs for being my son and making my first Mother's Day perfect! Love always,

Momma

Mile High City

We just go back from our trip to Denver. We had a lot of fun but we were really glad to get home. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we got to do a bunch of fun things. Briggs did so good on the plane, he LOVED sitting in his own seat like a big boy.

We went to the zoo, which is HUGE and Briggs really enjoyed the bears the best.

The next day we did some shopping at the outlet mall in Castle Rock and ate at Outdoor World, which was ridiculous to find. Our last day there we went to the Cubs and Rockies game at Coors Stadium, this was really our whole reason for the trip (Cody is a huge Cubs fan), Briggs didn't like it so much we forget that he is only 9 months old and shouldn't like sitting outside for 5 hours, yes I said 5 hours, Cody thought we should get there EARLY. At least we got to enjoy our HUGE Rocky Dogs and got to watch batting practice. Anyways, we really did have a good time but we are certainly glad to be home. Now it is time start working hard on our new house, we are really excited and Lowes has become our favorite place to shop!

Puppy Love

I forgot to mention that we added a new addition to the Satterfield clan. Rev Satterfield joined us as a family on April 8th. He is a Silver Lab and Cinnamon has taken to him pretty well. He is very playful and is adjusting to our house. Me and Cinnamon are outnumbered 3:2 in boys to girls ratio. Here are some pictures of our new puppy.
