Sad Banana

Do you see what I see?? I was cutting this banana up for Briggs and it had the saddest face :( I know I am weird for taking a picture of it. I wonder if I could sell it on ebay??? Just kidding.

It has been an interesting day here at the Satterfield home. We just got back electricity about 2 hours ago. It was out for about 4 hours and it seemed like an eternity!!! Try to entertain a 19 month old with out any electricity! I will never gripe about our Excel bills again. It is worth every penny!!! We bundled up as best as we could, and we never really did get too cold. In the midst of it all Briggs whacked his forehead on the coffee table and about gave me a heart attack. It swelled up like a goose egg and was blue!! Poor baby!!! He took it better then me! Anyways, I am REALLY glad to have it back on! Praise the Lord for heat, electricity and warm food!! Hope everyone stays warm!

*Just a quick note on the blurry pics. Briggs moves CONSTANTLY. He is never still, only when he sleeps. That is why all of the pics he is in are blurry.

To Pee or Not To Pee.....

That IS the question!

My goal was to start potty training Briggs after I had the baby, so I have started. I don't know what wears me out more, sleepless nights or potty training!!! Briggs is doing really good sitting on the potty, but that is just it, SITTING! Right after we sit on the potty he pees! He gets a sticker every time he sits and he really likes getting those. I have only been at this for 3 days now, and I know that it takes time. I would gladly accept any advice from moms who have potty trained their little guys!! What worked? How long did it take? Any suggestions? Please let me know!

Two's Company

One week down. Oh My!! It is a little different having 2 kids! Especially when they are only 19 months apart! We are still working on our routine but I think we might be getting the hang of it. Grady sleeps pretty good at night and that is really what I am having to adjust to the most. Briggs' hunger for attention is growing and he gets louder and more onry everyday! I was nursing Grady on the couch last night and heard the toilet seat slamming up and down, Briggs runs in the living room soaking wet! You guessed it!! Fun stuff! I am sure there will be more of those days to come.

I wanted to blog a little about my labor. I was induced as I said before, they didn't start the Pitocin until 9:30a.m. My water was broke at 11:15a.m., received my epidural at 11:45a.m., dilated at a 3 at that time, then I went from a 4-7 in one hour then 8-9 then complete! I pushed twice! Yes folks twice! I was pretty amazed! I guess all of those water aerobic classes paid off!! He was born at 3:43 p.m. and we came home the next day. I think God gives me good deliveries because my pregnancies I am so sick! Well enough on that. Here are a few pics of the Satterfield boys! Oh and one of me right before going to the hospital.
My doctor, Dr. Carrillo, My sister and the boys
He delivered all 3 of them!!

Grady Alan

He is here!!! I am not going to blog much, but I will get on at a later time and tell you more about it all. He was born Saturday, March 14 at 3:43 p.m. 8lbs 2.8oz. 20.5 inches. He has blonde hair and really doesn't look like Briggs. We are all doing great and trying to settle in! Here are a few pics.

It all comes down to this

9 months

Nausea
Vomiting
Fatigue
No sleep
Extreme Weight gain
Leg cramps

I could go on and on, but most of you women know that. For 9 months you carry this child in your womb and it all comes down to one day, a couple of hours, and a few painful moments. Then that sweet little baby is here and all of the miserable moments you have experienced get washed away-Amnesia-.

I am getting induced tomorrow morning. I am excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. I was not induced with Briggs so I really don't know what to expect (even if I do work on that floor of the hospital). I can't wait to hold Grady in my arms and show Briggs his little brother. Please keep Grady in your prayers so that he tolerates the induction well and is born a healthy newborn. Also keep Briggs in your prayers that he doesn't get to spoiled by his Papa!!

I have also forgot to mention that I had a "Sprinkle" a couple of weeks ago. A "Sprinkle" is basically a baby shower but smaller since it is your second and the baby was of the same sex. My sister, my mom and my good friend Jenn threw it for me. I received a ton of fun things and a ton of diapers!!! Definitely needed around here!!

On our weekly trips to Amarillo for my doctor's appointments we have been taking Briggs to the park or to the mall to play in the play area, which he loves!! He also loves the "Kack Kacks"-Ducks at the park. Here are some pictures of the sprinkle and of Briggs at the park.

Signing off as the last day for a family of THREE!!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

"Fit" to be tied

Briggs has started a new thing, throwing fits! Actually it's really not new but now that I know it is normal for 18 month olds to throw fits, I find it very comical. He does not do this very often at all but if the child gets tired, OH MY!!!! I captured one of his fits on my camera and it goes a little something like this:

Don't take my picture
I thought I said don't take my picture!
Are you not listening to me?!?!?!?!

Can't say I didn't warn you!!!!

Throwing a fit wears him out!

Now it may look like I just sat there while he threw his little tantrum, but I tried everything and the kid wasn't going to be consoled, so I just left him alone and walked out of the room and he went night night!

*A little update on the pregnancy:

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said that Grady already weighs 7lbs!! Briggs was 7-2 at birth! He said that if I have not had him by the 19th he will induce! Great by me!
