Lately

Here is a rundown of our week so far. 

Monday, Briggs went to the doctor for x-rays, or what we thought was just going to be x-rays, he ended up getting another cast because they wanted to check his pin. He did great and was so big. 

He was pretty proud of his cast after they cut it off. It stunk and he was pretty proud of that, typical boy for ya. :)

I have been letting him slip n slide with his arm wrapped really good and it seems to be doing really well. He has fun and doesn't complain about it. Last night we had our first flag football practice. It was so HOT!! Poor Grady wanted to play so bad. I really couldn't watch too much because Crue was running all over the place trying to steal other people's drinks!! 

 It was so hot that Grady, Crue and I came home a little before practice was over just in time to watch this girl race!!!! Did y'all see it? It was awesome!! She has the cutest personality and she is very mature for a 17 year old. I was jumping up and down cheering her on and then I started balling like a baby after she won!! And after the interview. It was so sweet.

I am enjoying the Olympics so much!! I love my country and I am so blessed to be an American.

BBQ and a Lemonade Party

We had a pretty busy day today. First we went to eat breakfast at Cody's grandparents' house and then we went and saw Cody at Nutterville where he was cooking. 

I got to be a bean judge!! Pretty sure Grill Masters is going to call me for their show! Ha! I got to taste some pretty good beans. 

Briggs was just chillin out with his root beer. 

 This is why I never post pictures of Cody. To me he is the most handsome, buff, HOT guy but when you take his pic it's just awkwardness (Is that a word?)!!!

 This evening we went to Brynlee's lemonade themed birthday party. It was sooo cute!! Brenda has three girls and her parties are always so much fun and oh so cute.

 Can't you just see them as old men someday:)

That is one good thing about Briggs' broken arm, him and Grady have gotten so much closer because he depends on Grady to help him do the things he could normally do for himself. They are such good brothers even if they still have knock down drag outs:)

Just Another Summer Day

We have had just a regular day around here today. Nothing new or exciting happening and that is just A ok with me:) 

We played outside and then topped the day off by eating at Dairy Queen. This is a big deal for my kids.  Cody is at another Cook Off so it was just the boys and I and we had a great date:)

Crue spilled a little of his water and he said "WHOA" like it was the coolest thing he had ever done. 

 Briggs just enjoying his lemonade.

 And yes my friends that is a foot long hot dog you see in front of my 3 year old. He didn't finish all of it, but believe me, He could have:)

 After that we came home, Crue took a bath and went to bed and the older 2 and I mowed the yard, I gave them hair cuts, bathed them and now we are having us a campout.

Olympic Games 2012

Aren't you sooo excited about the Olympics? I sure am!! I can't wait. 

 My favorite sports of the games are swimming.

 Gymnastics,

 and Track and Field.

I love watching all of these and I can't wait to cheer on Team USA!!!

Grady, The Handyman

 As you all know Grady DOES NOT wear shirts. Makes laundry a bit easier but going to the store a bit harder. Anyways, today he wanted to wear his tool belt and he posed for a pic like this. Ha!! He is so stinkin' cute!!

I'm thinking that in 20 years this may be him:) Hilarious!!!!

Cast Away

Briggs got his first hard cast put on today. He did great and I am soooo glad that it is on his arm:) You would think that a broken arm would slow a boy down a bit. WRONG. 

When we got to the office they took x-rays to make sure it was healing correctly.

 Then they started wrapping. Mummy style.

 He had 2 pretty girls or( Hubba Hubba's he calls them), working on him.

 He got to choose what color and he chose red.

 And a red sucker to go with it.

 He did great. Now for 2 weeks he will wear this and be moved into a short cast. The cast does not bother him a bit. Thank goodness!!!

 Oh Yeah, How do you like my hall tree now?:)

Monkey See, Monkey Do

We are at my parents this weekend just visiting and having a good 'ole time:) My dad, sister, Elizabeth, my oldest 2 and I are going to go see the play Texas tonight! So excited.

Back to the post:) Crue and Griffin are only 6 weeks a part and have finally developed a love/hate relationship. Ha!! Crue follows Griffin everywhere and everything Griffin does he has to do. It is so cute. I just know they are going to be great friends and will be so excited to see each other when they get older.

 They had to sit in the big chairs:) Crue WANTED in the bumbo, I did not put him in there.

Sling Bling

Briggs has to wear a sling when he is up and not elevating his arm on the couch so I thought instead of that old blue nasty sling why not a cool CAMO one!!! He has said from the beginning that he wants a camp cast but they don't make those so a camouflage sling is a fair trade:) 

It came in today!! It is too cute and it feels better then that hospital blue one. 

 He is pretty proud of it.

 If you got to wear one why not Bling it up a little, Right?

Also, look what I found on Craigslist!! Whoop Whoop. A hall tree just the right size!!! I am going to paint this bad boy black. I can't wait!!

Living Room Redo

A few months ago I decided that my living room needed to be redone. It had nothing to do with the fact that my SIL was redoing her house and I loved all of her colors and designs. Nope nothing at all. Coincidence if you ask me. :) Anywho, we bought new furniture and I got a rug for my birthday and I have just been picking up pieces here and there to finish decorating it.

This pic is the entry way. I loved how this turned out. The chest is a redone piece that my aunt gave me. The lamp I already had from TJ Maxx, mirror is from Kirklands, candlesticks are thrift store finds, green moss balls are from Michaels. I think it looks great when you walk in. The pic sitting on it is of the boys:)

This is the sofa table that I made. I just bought a piece of wood at Lowes and the legs were already made (those were purchased at Lowes too) and I bought the kits to screw them on. Cost was probably 30$. Then I just spray painted it and VOILA!!

 This is my couch. Terrible pic. But it is a cream and black trellis. I picked out the fabric and it came from our local furniture store Broxson's it is Best brand.

The TV wall. This wall was really hard to put something on. The white wall decor are ceiling tiles and I think they look really nice. The chairs are from Target, entertainment center from walmart.com, and the boy holding the sword came from Cody and Andi's baby factory. Ha! Isn't funny how he HATES to be photographed but when I don't want him in pics he's in every stinking one of them!! Crazy kid.

This is right by the front door. I knew I wanted an orange chair in this space but I just didn't want to spend money. (That's always the case for me.) I found this green chair on craigslist for $40 and I knew I could recover it so I went ahead and bought it for $30. When I got it home and started taking the ugly green off it was ORANGE!!!!! How lucky can I get????? I am going to put a family picture on the wall right here and just change it out every year.
I also have a little spot in the entry that I want to put a hall tree. I think I have found one but not sure just yet.
I also have a wall with our grey chair that has a 20x20 canvas of the boys on it but I couldn't get my computer to bring the pic up. Sorry all of the pics are kind of bad. I took them with my phone.

Scavenger Hunt

Today the boys and I went for a scavenger hunt!!! It was fun and hot!! This is where we went. Isn't it beautiful? Ha! Just kidding. This is our alley and this is where our little scavenger hunt started. 

 I didn't make cards or anything like that I just told the boys to find some fun and different stuff. After finding 93 rocks that looked EXACTLY the same Briggs wanted me to take a picture of THIS rock:) And guess who had to carry all of them:) Yours truly.

 This was a cool exhibit. A large tire track.

 I liked this find the best. Of course the boys cared less and wanted to pick it.

 After we walked down the alley we needed some H2O pretty bad. We were all a little parched, so we stopped at my MIL's house and rehydrated and the boys picked up pine cones for a while. Boys are pretty easy to entertain I must say!!!!

 I put this on the boys plates for supper and they couldn't even tell what it was!  I had to show them . Maybe someday they will appreciate it.
